Next on our ‘Meet The Team’ series is our incredibly creative Sam Brown. Sam is a graphic and web designer hailing from the Midlands of England. Sam is well equipped for the job, bringing over a decade of experience in branding and marketing and armed with a Master’s degree in Visual Communications.
How Sam came to join LYF and what he was doing before:
Before finding his place at Lyf, Sam had navigated the design world through various tech, youth and corporate roles. From cool design agencies to larger global companies, he’s had a diverse work history. The turning point came during the COVID-19 pandemic when he ventured into freelancing. This enabled him to choose the clients he truly wanted to collaborate with.
His journey to LYF came from a conscious decision to apply his skills towards global and social impact projects. Along with choosing his clients, he has a strong dedication to making a positive impact on the planet and its inhabitants. This was especially important after falling into some corporate roles which clearly did not align with his interests and values.
What Sam is working on now:
Sam has his own business, operating as Graphic & Web Designer at ChoChilli, his company that’s been up and running since August 2018. He not only does design work but also provides design research and creative services. He specialises in branding, creative storytelling, and content creation, with a focus on NGOs, training and support services, and education. It’s one of the many reasons we love his work so much!
His journey in the design world has also seen him working for renowned organisations such as Sanderson Design Group, Dixons Carphone (Currys PLC), Mercia Group, In2science UK, and KPMG. Sam attributes his skillset to these experiences. They helped him hone his ability to offer design research and creative solutions, serving diverse industries and challenges. Today, he concentrates his efforts in promoting branding and website design, as well as marketing material and digital outcomes, websites, and training.
The kinds of projects Sam works on at LYF Solutions:
When he’s working with us, he’s worked on plenty of our graphics too! Much of the design you see throughout LYF solutions is Sam’s handiwork. He also created the logo and the iconic Aussie animals for True Green. His typical day revolves around making things “visual.” Collaborating with various brands and teams, he works to market solutions that contribute to the longevity of our planet and deepen our understanding of it. He’s worked on projects for a variety of our clients from crafting logos and branding to web design, development, eBooks, and social media campaigns.

Sam’s top sustainability tips and swaps:
Food and clothing are among the largest consumer products, so to minimise our carbon footprint, I advocate for buying local and seasonal food whenever possible. When it comes to attire, quality triumphs over quantity. I steer clear of trendy clothing that might quickly fall out of fashion, choosing items that stand the test of time.
