Website Enhancement – How To Do It In 6 Easy Steps

Websites are no longer as easy as they used to be. These days anyone from the next door neighbour to your postman can create a website because the way websites work have changed. With new competition joining every day, we thought it was time to look at some new ways to improve your website with a few simple tools.

In this blog, we will discuss 6 easy steps on how your website can be enhanced to your advantage.

1. Start a mailing list.

A prompt to subscribe to your mailing list on your website will encourage visitors to stay in the loop with any news tips or offers you want to share in the future.

Firstly,  consider what the biggest challenge is for your target audience or what they would want the most out of you e.g. content or answers.

2. Get mobile.

Secondly, according to Google more than 80% of users are said to use their mobile or portable device when exploring the web. Similarly, if your website isn’t device responsive, then it will be too hard to browse and this will throw your visitors off.

3. Use a strong call to action.

Thirdly,  when you create a home page, it’s more than a welcome these days. Your home page on your website is where most users will land. Moreover,  the home page must, express what you do and what you want the user to do because getting this wrong could mean fewer leads, no sales and lower browsing from the visitor.

4. Replace images with a video.

Nothing says hello than a video.

A video can add credibility and point of difference for your website.

In addition, videos are a great way to express your brands emotions and feelings.  Likewise, you can use a video on the home page or about us page. In short,  the key here is to not over-do the videos, i.e., keep it to 1-2 videos and keep the content succinct for your viewers.

5. Social and Share Links

For instance, if you are on social media for your business, link this to your website. Furthermore, if you want people to share your content, make it easier with share buttons. You can get share codes from your social network or if using WordPress consider an app like Sharethis.

6. Speed

Just like when you’re in a rush, the speed of a website is also important. The average loading time is around 3-5 seconds, anymore, and you could be losing visitors.

To improve speed minimise your codes, optimise or compress your site files and consider options like using a CDN.

These are just six of the many ways to enhance your website.

In conclusion,  the key to a good website is that it’s always changing. Not so much the entire site, but rather the content and a call to action. All good websites will test out different methods to achieve results, if you want to continue to test the boundaries; this is a great way to deliver new results.
